Golf Day Fund Raiser

This is one of our major fund raisers each year. The event, called the Cessnock Rotary Vintage Cup, is held at The Vintage Golf Club at Rothbury in the Hunter Valley.

The inaugural event was held in April 2009 and raised $10,000. The proceeds from that event helped refurbish the Brenton Carey Girls’ Orphanage in Pakistan – a Rotary matching grant project (Rotary International contributed US$9,200).

In 2010 the event was held on Tue 4 May at The Vintage and proceeds went to support the Cessnock PCYC. The event was a great success with around $20,000 being raised from sponsorships and a charity auction at lunch. A feature this year was that the AMP Foundation matched 50% of money we raised which meant that the PCYC received a cheque at our Changeover Dinner in the amount of $10,000.
